LOS ANGELES—December 7, 2011—First Western Trust Bank (“First Western”) announces the appointment of Andrew “Pete” Ewing as Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at the firm’s Los Angeles office. Ewing joined First Western’s wealth planning team, led by Tim Morphy, President, in October.
First Western, headquartered in the West, brings together a strong team of individuals with more than 30 years experience in the Los Angeles market. Located at 515 South Figueroa Street, First Western provides integrated wealth management solutions on a private banking platform. The firm is recognized for developing customized solutions for high-net-worth clients in the areas of investment management, personal trust, private banking, and wealth planning.
In addition to extensive relationship management experience, Ewing brings nearly 40 years of investment management, private client advisory, and banking expertise to his new role. As a Portfolio Manager, he manages clients’ investment portfolios in collaboration with First Western’s wealth and fiduciary advisors and Investment Policy Committee.
Through the firm’s proprietary wealth planning approach, WealthView 360ºTM, Ewing works with new clients to comprehensively review their financial situation and develops diversified
asset allocation strategies that are consistent with clients’ objectives and risk tolerance. He monitors and rebalances client portfolio holdings to ensure that investment policies are properly implemented.
“We are very pleased to add the depth of Pete’s asset management experience to the First Western team for the benefit of our high-net-worth clients,” said Morphy. “Consistent with the First Western approach, Pete believes in building long-term relationships with clients, and his proven track record in portfolio management speaks for itself.”
Prior to joining First Western, Ewing served for five years as a director in private banking for Credit Suisse in Los Angeles. Previously, he was a private client advisor for Bank of America and a vice president of corporate banking for Union Bank. Ewing received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
“The market environment has been challenging for clients, and they demand experience and guidance to position their portfolios for long-term growth and capital preservation,” said Ewing. “I believe that First Western excels in performance and personal service, and I look forward to working with First Western’s clients to develop strategies to reach their investment goals.”
