First Western Trust, Aspen, Creates Donor Advised Fund with Aspen Community Foundation

May 19, 2016

Aspen, Colo – May 19, 2016 – First Western Trust, Aspen, is excited to announce the launch of its first donor advised fund at the Aspen Community Foundation (ACF). As only the fourth for-profit business to establish a donor advised fund at ACF, First Western Trust is taking the first steps toward earning a place among the people and organizations that help improve the lives of all who live in the Roaring Fork and Colorado River Valleys.

A donor-advised fund is a philanthropic vehicle established at a public charity that allows donors to make a charitable contribution and recommend grants from the fund over time.

First Western Trust chose to work with the Aspen Community Foundation because of its commitment to addressing the diverse and changing needs of the local community through leadership, support, and guidance.

In particular, First Western Trust’s Aspen team has been deeply impressed by ACF’s Cradle to Career Initiative, which focuses on ensuring that every child from Aspen to Parachute is ready for kindergarten and graduates from high school ready for college or a career.

“We are thrilled to launch our donor advised fund,” said Charles Bantis, president of First Western Trust, Aspen. “We see this fund as a direct expression of our long-term commitment to our local communities and of our desire to help the Aspen Community Foundation in its mission of service and support.”
